Cashbackie

Why is my cashback lower than expected?

Usually because the cashback was worked out on a lower amount than you paid, or because a different cashback rate applies to part of your order.

The usual causes

  • The cashback is worked out on the amount excluding VAT. That makes a noticeable difference. Whether this applies to a shop is shown on the shop page.
  • Delivery costs don't count.
  • Part of your order falls into a different product group. At department stores and marketplaces the rate varies a lot by category: fashion often earns several times what electronics does. If a shop says "Cashback by category", open that section.
  • The rate shown is a maximum. With "up to 8% cashback", 8% is the highest rate at that shop, not the rate on everything.
  • Part of the order was returned.

Is it really wrong?
